On the obverse, Pratt's design depicts a North American Indian wearing a war bonnet and facing left. In front of him are six five-pointed stars, and behind him are seven five-pointed stars. Above it is the word "FREEDOM" and below it is the date.
The reverse features an American eagle also facing left. "UNITED STATES" above, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" before the eagle, and "IN GOD WE TRUST" behind the eagle. An eagle stands on a quiver of arrows and holds an olive branch in its left leg.
