The 2013 issue from the Perth Mint Endangered and Extinct Series is dedicated to one of Tasmania’s most distinctive and famous animals – the Tasmanian Devil (Stern Devil).

 

The reverse of the coin depicts two Tasmanian Devils – an adult with its young. This richly colored silver coin highlights the uniqueness of this vulnerable and shy creature. The coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu. The obverse bears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Raphael Maklouf, along with the 2013 year-date.

 

Each coin comes in a high-quality glossy wooden case with a bird’s-eye wood inlay and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
