The silver coin of 50 litas is intended to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Adam Mickevičius.
The profile of the poet A. Mickevičius is depicted on the reverse in the background of Vilnius University buildings. ADOMAS MICKEVIČIUS is written in a semicircle at the bottom, 1798–1855 on the right. On the obverse, the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania in a shield, below it - a stylized feather, LITHUANIA is written in a semicircle at the top, 50 LITUA at the bottom, 1998 on both sides of the coat of arms.
