The yellow topaz charm which, being the colour of the sun, has traditionally been associated with good fortune and energy. In Chinese culture koi fish have for centuries represented courage and perseverance due to their ability to swim upstream, while eight is regarded as the luckiest number.

Rotating Charm Design
The reverse of the coin features eight koi fish swimming beneath peonies and encircling a rotating yellow topaz charm. With their ability to swim upstream, koi represent perseverance, strength and ambition, while eight is considered the most propitious number in Chinese culture.
Antiqued Finish
To capture the depth and detail of its design each coin features a unique antique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. The design includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. As a result this treatment, the appearance of each coin may vary.
Tuvalu Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the coin’s obverse shows Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017 year-date and the monetary denomination.
Limited Mintage
