This 2016 Niue $1 1 oz. Proof Silver Royal Star Elizabeth II 90th Birthday commemorative ships to you in GEM Proof condition in the original Mint packaging. This issue has a limited mintage of a scant 900 coins.

This is undoubtedly the most unique coin issued to commemorate the Queen's 90th birthday. Rather than going with the conventional round coin, the Pacific Island of Niue decided to go with a "star" shape. This is a legal tender Niue $1 coin which contains 1 oz. of .999 fine silver.

The obverse of the coin features the familiar Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding the queen is some floral scrolling and the English Rose, Irish Shamrock and Scottish Thistle.

The reverse also features a portrait of the Queen, this time seated holding a Royal orb and scepter. A banner proclaims "Elizabeth II 90th Birthday" below. Above is the "ER II"crest. The English Rose, Irish Shamrock and Scottish Thistle also make an appearance on the floral motif surrounding the reverse.

 This is a proof coin struck with a specialized process using polished blanks and dies. The packaging consists of a clamshell presentation case and a certificate of authenticity.
